This is not a recommended method, but other methods that I have tried here have not worked.
This coding is really simple. Just put letters inside

Very interesting question. No high level maths required.
This question was posted a couple of days ago.

I think it is really interesting. It looks much more difficult than it really needs to be.

Some guidelines for question askers.
Please note:
1) Ask only one question per post.
2) When asking a question talk about what you have tried for yourself. Then people will take you more seriously and will be more able and willing to help.
3) If you get an answer

inverse of x^(3/5) = x^(-3/5) OR 1/[x^(3/5)]
These two answers are just different ways of expressing the same thing.

In 2011, the number of students that enrolled at a school was 965. The number was up by 6.5% on the 2010 number. How many students were at school in 2010. Please who all working thankyou
106.5% (of the 2010 enrolment) is 965 students
106.5% divided by 106.5 = 1%
so
1% must be 965 divided by 106.5 students
so
100% must be 965 divided by 106.5 *100 students
that is 965 / 106.5 * 100 students in 2010

Sine

(0.96)
You are being asked for the inverse sine of 0.96
sometimes this is called arc sine 0.96
the answer will be an angle so you must make sure your calculator is in degrees or radian mode, whichever you want your answer in.
on some calcs you will enter
inv sin 0.96 =
on others I think it may be
asin 0.96 =
Really what it means is
If sin(theta)=0.96 Find theta
where
-90degrees <= theta <=+90degrees

I have a graphing problem that says 3x-y=1 I have the values for x but i don't know what y would be
okay, just say the values of x that you have are 0 and 2
When x = 0 you put 0 in for x and you get
3x-y=1
3*0 - y = 1
so
0 - y = 1
-y = 1
y = -1
So the point is x=0, y=-1 (0,-1)
When x=2 you substitute 2 for x and you get
3*2 - y = 1
6 - y = 1
-y = 1-6
-y = -5
y = 5
So the point is x=2, y=5 (2,5)
etc

'mean' is another word for average.
so if you want to find the mean of a group of numbers you add them all up and then divide by how many there are.
for example
If the scores (numbers) are 2,3,8,5,9 then
mean = (2+3+8+5+9) / 5 = 27/5 = 5.4
The symbol for mean is an x with a bar (line) over the top.

find a3 if a1=5584 r=-1/4
Well guest, is that what you meant.
It does sound reasonable, the notation that I am used to is a little different.
And, r usually stands for common ratio, which would make it a geometric progression.
I think the answer is more likely
a
3
= a
1
* r
(n-1)
a
3
= 5584 * (-1/4)
2
a
3
= 349

What is your real problem, don't you have a calculator?
I mean, do you want some help on entering it into your calculator or do you want to know how to do it without a calculator.
What is 5.8x10 to the 5 power x 6.4 x 10 to the 2 power
=5.8*6.4 * 10
5
* 10
2
=37.12 * 10
7
=3.712 * 10
