RE-arranging just a bit results in this:

x^2 - 2x -35 > 0

(x+5)(x-7)    >0      it IS zero between -5  and 7   and greater than 0 outside of this

-5>x>7

It does not have 1/2 standard deviations listed, but the graph is near linear in this region so we will interprolate the values for 1/2 SD

For an 'A' , 1 1/2 SD would encompass

  .15  + 2.35 + 13.5/2 % of the students = 9 %  (rounded to 1 decimal point)

B would encompass  the first 1/2 SD  34/2  plus 1/2 of the next SD   13.5/2  = 24% (rounded)

I do not know what the  poly remain theorem is, but if you put in '5' fo 'x' , the result is

f(5) = 469

It is a parabola....

if 'a' is positive it is open upwards like a bowl

if 'a' is negative it is open downward like a dome

imaginary     as in    ' i '

y = 2x-1/x+5         First, solve for 'x'    

  yx+5y -2x = -1

yx - 2x= -5y -1

x(y-2)  = -5y-1

x = (-5y-1)/(y-2)    then switch the x's and y's to have the inverse f^-1 (x)

y = (-5x-1)/(x-2)             a = -5 c= 1      a/c -5/1 = -5
