Second one :

  Pedro wants to spen = to or less than 70    so   <= 70

    9.94 shipping per order    and  10.01  per  p     is the total cost

         9.94   + 10.01 p  <= 70

                      10.01 p <= 60.06

                           p <= 6

Here is another method :

x   = 5.228

100x = 522.8888.....

1000x = 5228.8888.....

1000x - 100x =  900x =   5228.8888....   - 522.8888....    = 4706

900x = 4706

x = 4706/900   simplify as needed                     (=  5  103/450)

Use cos law

c^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2ab cos c

example   to find cos a

  8^2 = 5^2 + 7^2  - 2 ( 5 )( 7) cos a         solve for cos a       the others are similar

Say you were drawing the graph.....    if you can draw it all without picking up your pencil, it is continuous....

   if  you have to pick up your pencil at any point to draw it, it is discontinuous....can you solve this one now?

When x = 0     you will find the   y - axis intercept

Try:     y = -6a    x = 3

1/2  ( -6a)(3) = 12

   -6a = 8

        a = - 6/8      but this would result in downward opening parabola    ( there would be a negative x^2 coefficient)

Try:   y = - 6a    x = - 2

1/2 (-6a)(-2) = 12

a = 2
