Projectiles
A projectile is fired with initial velocity 5umeters/second at an angle of projection tan inverse of (4/3).
The projectile is halfway below its maximum height at times t1 and t2.
Show that:

Fechtmeyer wrote: how would you find x in tan 31=14/x i can solve it when x is on the top but not the bottom:
well tan31=14/x
multiply both sides by x to make x the subject.
=>tan31*x=14/x*x
=>tan31x=14
i'm sure you can get x from that but if you can't just let me know.

Guest wrote: whats negative 3 over 6 minus 5 over 7 simplified.
=>(-3/6)-(5/7)
look for the lcm of 6 and 7 which is 42 =>[(-3/6)-(5/7)]/42
=>(-21-30)/42
=>-51/42
=>-17/14

piestanderd wrote: if 3v+2 = 7v-6 what is v?
Ok, 3v+2=7v-6
puting like terms on oneside gives
=> 2+6=7v-3v
=> 8=4v
making v the subject we divide both sides by 4
=> (8/4)=(4v/4)
=> 2=v
v=2

Cody said b/-3 +12= 23 Solve for b.
b/-3+12=23
multiply althrough by -3 gives:
b - 36 = -69
make b the subject
=> b = -69 + 36
=> b = -33.

OMG Harley!! i'm so so sorry, i did not notice the + and - sign.
Ok so (4+1/8) - (4-1/3) all that divided by 24 gives (96+3-96-8)/24 = -5/24.
Once again i'm so so sorry. The correct answer is truly -5/24.

4 1\8 - 4 1\3
look for the lowest common multiple of 8 and 3 or u can just multiply 8 by 3 which is 24.
41/8 - 41/3 all that divided by 24.
24/8=3, 3*41=123.
24/3=8, 8*41=328.
=> (123 - 328)/24 = -205/24

A)Let U be the coefficient of friction.
At limiting equilibrium, F=UR
=> U=F/R
Resolving the directions of UR an R gives:
UR-Wsin20=0
R-Wcos20=0
=> U=Wsin20/Wcos20 =tan20 =0.364
