Hi sami,
Absolute value is the distance a number is from zero, so it is always positive (distance).
So, the absolute value of 68 would be 68:)

Thanks for the end-of-day wrap, Melody!
It really helps me to catch up on what's happening in the forum, especially when I've been busy for a few days.
Thanks for taking your time to write it for the longest time EVER!

Hi kat,
According to this site, http://askville.amazon.com/unstoppable-force-meets-immovable-object/AnswerViewer.do?requestId=178007
There would be "an endless transfer of energy."
The first answer also gives the explanation:)

(2,12)?
Well, to find the equation of a line you need either two points, or one point and the slope of the line.

A wheel has a radius of 2 and 1 third feet. About how far does it travel if it makes 60 complete revolutions? Use 22/7 for 3.14
First, find the diameter of the wheel, which is twice the radius.
2*2 1/3 = 4 2/3
Then use this to find the circumference:
4 2/3 * 22/7
= 14 2/3
This is the length of one revolution.
Now multiply it by 60 to get the length of 60 revolutions.
14 2/3 * 60
=880 feet.

25% is the same as 0.25, so 25% of 73.00 is the same as 0.25 * 73
Put that into a calculator;
the answer should be 18.25

Hi joshua,
Displacement of an object is the overall change in distance from its starting location.
Therefore, since the object is traveling 20km south, then 11km south again,
the total distance south would be 20+11
= 21km south
Same with the 9km west and 3km west.
The total distance west would be 9+3
=12km west
Therefore, the displacement of the object would be 21km south, 12 km west. It is in whole numbers.
I don't know what the answer would be in degrees, but this site might help:

Hello cheetah970,
Yes, there is. I haven't tried this, but the administrator posted it a long time ago. Here is the link:
http://web2.0calc.com/questions/systems-of-equations
For the equations:
2y-3z = 4
-y + 7z = -12
You would put in something like this:
solve( 2 * y - 3 * z = 4 , - y + 7 * z = - 12)
But I tried your equation, and strangely it doesn't work. Maybe it is a typo?
Sorry I couldn't help a lot; maybe when Melody or some of the other people come on they may be able to help you:)
