Yep, Anonymous.....I'm afraid you are correct....I had forgotten about that small detail!!!

[2.75 x 10⁸] / [2.5 x 10⁹ ]  = [2.75 / 2.5] x 10^-1  =  (11/10) x (1/10)  = 11/100 = 11%

-18/2-3x/2=-21/2      mutiply through by 2 to clear the fractions....

-18 - 3x = -21      add 18 to both sides

-3x = -3          divide by -3 on both sides

x = 1

The remaining side = 13cm

And the smallest angle will be opposite this side....so ....using the Law of Cosines  and the cosine inverse, we have

cos^-1  ((13^2 - 24^2 -23^2) / ((-2)(24)(23) )  = Θ  = about 32.0°

The median is 551   .....The mode is 542  .....so....

551 + 542  =  1093

Let C be the original cost......and we know that....

1C + (3/4)C  = 42  simplify

C(7/4) = 42      multiply both sides by (4/7)

C = 42(4/7)  = (42/7)(4)  = (6)(4)  = $24    and this was the cost
