d =√[15^2 + 30^2 + 12^2 ] =

√[225 + 900 + 144]  =

√1269 = 35.6 inches

To convert this to an improper fraction......mutiply the 4 time 8  = 32 ....add the 3 to this = 35. Then, put this result over the 8......so....

8 + 3/4   =  35/8
