Mmmm....the on-site calc seems to give the same result  - (3) -  when I evaluated this (???)

(ln 4) * d/dx 4^x  =  (ln 4) 4^x

So we have

(ln 4)^2 * 4^x    {remember that ( ln 4 )  is just a constant }

(2 + y) ^3    = y^3 + 6y^2 + 12y + 8
