IMHO, Algebra....Geometry requires a lot of "visualization"...plus.....many Geometry "proofs" are unstructured problems (there is no specified way of attacking the problem, like there usually is in Algebra)
The wire forms a hypotenuse of a right triangle....so we have
sin65 = 75 / x where x is the wire length, therefore
x = 75/sin65 = about 82.75 m
The identity property for addition is .. a + 0 = a
The identity property for multiplication is .. a*1 = a
An 8% grade means that for everty 100 feet horizontally, the hill rises 8 feet vertically.
So we can use the tangent inverse to find this angle.....we have
tan-1(8/100) = about 4.57°
We would tell you....but....being too sweet on Pythagoras would put us in a "love triangle"....and we always try to avoid those......!!!!
3 + 1/3 = 10/3 1+ 2/3 = 5/3 "of" means "multiply'
10/3 x 5/3 =
50/9 =
5 + 5/9 ...just as BJ said.....well.....more, or less....
As Anonymous has pointed out....the radius could be anything....we'd need to know a volume.....
Thanks, BJ......
0.2(x+50)-6=0.4(3x+20) multiply both sides by 10 to clear the decimals
2(x + 50) = 4(3x + 20) distribute across the terms in the parentheses
2x + 100 = 12x + 80 subtract 80, 2x from both sides
20 = 10x divide both sides by 10
2 = x
10 x 60 will give you your answer.....
