OK, Katie ....
72 : 24 = 15 : ____ set up as :
72 / 24 = 15 / x
Notice that the first ratio can be reduced to 3/1.......so we have
3/1 = 15 / x cross-multiply
3 *x = 15 * 1
3x = 15 divide by 3 on both sides
x = 5 and that's the missing value
f(x)=6x+7 and g(x)=x^2-4, find the value of f(2)+g(2)
f(2) = 6(2) + 7 = 12 + 7 = 19
g(2) = (2)^2 + 4 = 4 - 4 = 0
So.....f(2) + g(2) = 19 + 0 = 19
Maybe you're trying to find the 4th root of 16 ???....if so, we have
(16)^(1/4) = 2
[4] 16
I believe we are just multiplying 4 x 16
Thanks, Melody.....
Well.....we don't know anything about the dimensions of the parallelogram, nor what DE refers to......
So....we're probably going to have to have a diagram, picture, etc......
Since 24 is the LCM of 2,3, 6 and 8.......the next largest integer is just :
206,496 + 24 =
206,520
I assume this is:
[6^-1a^-3b^4] / [5^-2 ab^5] = [the constants / variables with the negative exponents are brought across the fraction bar and their exponents change to a positive]
[5^2 * b^4] / [ 6^1 * a^3 * a * b^5] =
[25 b^4] / [ 6 * a^4 * b^5 ] = note...... [b^4 / b^5] = [1 / b]
[25 ] / [ 6* a^4 *b]
9x - 7 = -7 add 7 to both sides
9x = 0 divide both sides by 9
x = 0
