The  length  of the belt from A to D   =   524 * [ 251/360 ] * 2*pi   = about 2295.53 mm

The length of the belt from C to B  =  140 * [ 109/360] * 2*pi  = about 266.34 mm

And, by symmetry, AB = DC

So....the length of the drive belt is ≈  [ 1398*2 + 2295.53 + 266.34 ]mm  ≈ 5357.87 mm

Let me show you an easy way to solve this kind of problem:

Divide 72 by 3 =  24

So

24  +  24  +  24   = 72           subtract 1 from the first number and add 1 to the last

23  +  24  +  25   = 72           and there you go  !!!!!

amt spent =  24 - 10  = $14

number of pecils purchased   = 7

amt spent / no. bought   =  $14/7   = $2  per pencil

4(k-8)= -4(-4+k)    simplify both sides

4k - 32   =  16 - 4k       add 4k, 32 to both sides

8k = 48       divide bth sides by 8

k = 6

[331 - 7] /6   =  324 / 6   =  162 / 3   =  54  per bus
