x-2/3 = -1/6 add 2/3 to both sides
x = 2/3 - 1.6 [2/3 = 4/6]
x = 4/6 - 1/6
x = 3//6 = 1/2
Don't get confused, here.......cos(45) and sin(45) mean that we are finding the cosine and sine, respectively, of a 45 degree angle......they have the same value......we are not "multipying" the cosine and sine by 45.....!!!
x = (ax-a+4)4 simplify
x = 4ax - 4a + 16
x - 16 = 4ax - 4a factor the rght side
x - 16 = (4a)(x - 1) divide both sides by 4(x - 1)
[(x - 16) / [(4(x -1)] = a
5(2x-3)≥15x simplify the left side
10x - 15 ≥ 15x add 15 to both sides........subtract 15x from both sides
-5x ≥ 15 divide both sides by -5 and reverse the inequality sign
x [less than or equal to] -3
54 = .67N divide both sides by ,67
54 / .67 = N = about 80.597
This is a pretty good explanation......http://www.purplemath.com/modules/fraction3.htm
[45 - 4] / 90 = 41 / 90
1 yd = about .9144m and 5 min = 300 sec
So 85.4 yds. = 85.4 x .9144 = about 78.1m
So
78.1 / 300 = x / 70 cross-multiply
70(78.1)/300 = x = about 18.22m
7x-40 =-5 add 40 to both sides
7x = 35 divide both sides by 7
x = 5
Just type in....... abs(n) where n is the number you wish to take the absolute of
