Area = 1/2 * base * height Since we know the area of the triangle (we can use Heron's formula to find it), and we know the length of the base, we can solve for the height: Area = 1/2 * AC * height height = 2 * Area / AC Plugging in the values we know, we get: s = (15 + 20 + 20) / 2 = 27.5 (semiperimeter) Area = sqrt(s(s-15)(s-20)(s-20)) = 150 height = 2 * 150 / 20 = 15 Therefore, the length of the shortest altitude in this triangle is 15.

The inverse of a function is a function that undoes another function. for example the inverse of f(x) = x-3 is f^-1(x) = x+3.

There are two real solutions: (1/26^(2/3)) + 26^(2/3), and 26^(2/3)- (1/26^(2/3))

If you want helpw tih your homework, you may post one or two problems at a time. This is a blatant attempt at just getting homework answers, which is not what this website is for. Before asking for help at least try the problems first.

Graphing this equation we see that the x intercept, or time when it hits the ground is 5 at 5 seconds. The maximum height it reaches is at 2.5 seconds, 100 feet up in the air. As said in the question, they were launched from the ground so the y intercept is 0. (this is also shown in the equation, no c term)
Hope this helps!

Lets say we have 10 people on the team. Because the probabilities of choosing a sophomore or a freshman are the same, that means that they both have a 50/50 chance and that there are the same amount of freshman and sophomores on the team. Therefore the fraction of the swim team that are sophomores are 1/2.
Hope this Helps!

this is a simple system of equations. we will call the distance from a to b x, and c to d y. We have the x = y - 3004, and that x+y = 7866. solving the second equation with substituion gives y - 3004 + y = 7866. Solve for y and you get y = 5435.
Hope this helps!

If we have a 4x4 grid and can place 1 counter in each square with 2 counters per square, we have that the each row can have 8 different arrangments for the counters. this applies to each of the 4 rows, so you hvae 8*8*8*8 possibilities, which is 4096.
If we are placing 3 counters in each square, we can have 4 possibilities for each row, which is 4^4 or 256 possibilities.
Very sorry I couldn't upload images, webcalc does not let me for some weird reason but I use mathigon to visualise this, so thanks to Melody for sharing it.
Hope This Helps!
