Based on how you wrote the equation, I interpret your equation to be \(\frac{7}{8}w=14\). Of course, we are solving for w by isolating it:

\(\frac{7}{8}w=14\) Multiply by 8/7 on both sides of the equation. Doing this will eliminate the fraction.
\(w=\frac{14}{1}*\frac{8}{7}\) Notice that the 14 and 7 have a GCF of seven. Noticing this will ease the simplification process.
\(w=\frac{14}{1}*\frac{8}{7}=\frac{2}{1}*\frac{8}{1}=16\)

Therefore, \(w=16\).
