the circumference of a circle is 17.27 inches. what is the radius?

However, Circumference is pi * the diameter, not twice the radius. 

 

C=π×d

 

Substitute in 17.27 for C:

 

17.27=π×d

17.27π=d

 

17.27π=5.4972117343940649

d = 5.497

 

Radius is half of the diameter:

 

r=d2

 

r=5.4972r=2.7485

 

The radius is approximately 2.75 inches.
