Triangle ZAQ is congruent to Triangle XSW. If the sum of the measures of angles Z+Q is 175 degrees, what is the measure of S?

The problem is, we don't have the measurements of either Z or Q.

At the moment, S could be a huge range of numbers. Do you know what either Z or Q is?

Z and Q is 175 Degrees.

ΔZAQ = ΔXSW

Therefore......angles Z and Q   = angles X and W

And Z + Q   =   175°   = X + W

So.......angle A must  = 180 - 175 =  5°

But, angle A   = angle S......so S must also = 5°
