At a gas station, Beth added gallons of gasoline to fill her
gallon tank. Beth wants to know how many gallons of gasoline were originally in her tank. Which of the following is a verbal model of this problem?
total gas in Beth's tank gas originally in Beth's tank
gas added to Beth's tank
gas originally in Beth's tank gas added to Beth's tank
total gas in Beth's tank
gas added to Beth's tank gas originally in Beth's tank
total gas in Beth's tank
gas added to Beth's tank total gas in Beth's tank
gas originally in Beth's tank
Since Beth added 11.2 gallons of gasoline to fill her tank to 18 gallons, this is the total gas in the tank.
The total gas (18 gal) would equal the 11.2 gallons she added plus the original amount of gas in the tank. The total amount of gas she ends up with in the tank would be whatever amount it held earlier, plus the amount of gas she added (choice 2).
The images in the question appear to be part of an online course. They are not available to view for anybody not registered for the course, which is most of us, I guess (presumably kitty<3 is an exception, since she seems to know what's in them).
Hello Alan:) Perhaps Anonymous reposted, but I didn't see any pictures with the question . . . just the question and four answer choices.
And thanks, Ninja!
That's interesting kitty! What browser do you use?
On the main Questions page I see the beginning of the question in words, but it cuts off part way through the first sentence. Then, when I select the question I see some words interspersed by icon's that represent images.
When I try to trace what these are by using "inspect element" I see URLs that end in .gif. Attempting to link to these I get the message that only those registered for the course can see them (or some such message - I don't remember the exact words!).
I know a computer technician who can repair the problem – he doesn’t speak English, but he understands it.
He works cheep too- just a couple of bananas.
