Hello Guest!

\(x+2x+\frac{x}{5}=48\\ \frac{5x+10x+x}{5}=48\\ 16x =48\cdot 5\\ x=15\)

\(The\ third\ length\ is \ \frac{15}{5}ft=3ft\)

The rope should be cut according to this ratio:       1 : 5 : 10

Therefore, the length of the 3rd rope is:            48 / 16 = 3 ft    indecision
