It could be important to someone.

Hand it in to lost and found.

If it has malicious things, it could be traced back to me with finger prints.

I was thinking more of a find a safe way to wipe the usb without damaging my pc.

Did you plug it into your computer?

Not yet, it's sitting in a box on top of my dresser.

Then what do you mean by wiping it without damaging your pc?

If I want to wipe it I need to plug it into my computer, My friend has a junker pc, but I don't if that'll help considering I don't even know what is on the drive.

and you can just wipe your fingerprints off with a wet washcloth so you'll be fine

You shouldn't plug it in if it's not yours...

If you were worried it had illegal material on it wth did you pick it up for?

Apply a hammer repeatedly to it or toss it into a fire.

Bring it to either the office or to the tech department so they can figure it out just in case there's anything private on there.

It's critical that you do so just in case the usb contains a virus.

Just shove it up your asss. You can flush away your problem the next time you take a shitt.

1. Turn it in to lost and found

2. Put it back where you found it

3. Destroy it

4.  IF you have a junker computer you do not care about......plug it in and see what is on it....maybe you can find to whom it belongs.....if there is no virus or anything interesting on it, reformat it (erase it) and use it as you would any other Thumb Drive

5. A computer store might have a USB duplicator/eraser that does not use a computer....they can 'wipe' it...
