I doubt that you want part plates so it woud depend on the exact shape of the 30square metre plate.

For instance if it was 100 cm by 300m you would get none because it is not wide enough!

CPhill has worked out that the MAXIMUM number of full plates is 10

I'm going to assume that the 120 and 240 are in cm....converting these to meters, we have

1.2 and 2.4. So each steel plate has an area of (1.2m)*(2.4m) = 2.88m²

So....(30m² ) / (2.88m² ) ≈ 10.42 plates......
