How do you find the area of a trapezoid?

1. Find the length of the lines that are parallel to each other. Set these equal to b₁ and b₂ (these are the "bases" of the trapezoid)
2. Find the height of the trapezoid (The height is perpendicular to both of the bases)
3. Solve using this formula: Area_trapezoid = h*((b₁ + b₂)/2)
