Rational Expressions
Perform the indicated operations on rational expressions
(3/2y) + (5/3y^2)
(1/x-3) - (4/x-5)
(x^2-x-2/x-3) times (x^2-9/x+1)
(3/p + q/6) / (2q/3p)
To make sure we understand your questions correctly, can you rewrite them to put parenthesees around each numerator and denominator?
For example.... to write the fraction 4a+15b−2 , you can write this: (4a + 1)/(5b - 2)
The way it is currently written, this is your first expression: 32y+53y2
But I think that might not be what you meant.
Okay, thanks for editing it! But just to make sure.....
(3/2y) + (5/3y^2) means (32y)+(53y2)
(1/x-3) - (4/x-5) means (1x−3)−(4x−5)
(x^2-x-2/x-3) times (x^2-9/x+1) means (x2−x−2x−3)(x2−9x+1)
(3/p + q/6) / (2q/3p) means 3p+q62q3p
....Are these what you meant?
To make your fractions what you mean, you need to put parenthesees around each numerator and denominator.
Every fraction should be in this format: ( stuff in numerator )/( stuff in denominator )
For example, x2−x−2x−3 must be written with parenthesees like this: (x^2 - x - 2)/(x - 3)
I can probably guess what your fractions are supposed to be, but since I already started making a point about this.....I don't want to just give it up.
