Does each equation represent exponential decay or exponential growth?

correctly label each equation as either exponential decay or exponential growth

Note: If an equation is neither exponential growth nor exponential decay label as neither

 W = 9/8 (3/5)^t

 L = 0.25 (12) ^t

 f(t) = (3/4)^t

 W = 0.5 (2.1)^t

  L = 4.2 (0.6)^t

f(t) = 2/3 (6)^t

g(x) = 1.3 (x)

These are easy to identify...we have the  form  on the right side of each equation

a(b)^x

If  b > 0  but < 1......we have exponential decay

If  b > 1......we have exponential growth

Can you answer the question based on this???....give it a try and I will check your answers  [ if you want me to...]

Are these right??

1. exponential decay

2. exponential growth

3. neither??

4. exponential growth

5. exponential decay

6. exponential growth

7. neither?

Excellent !!!

The last is indeed, "neither"   [ it is just a straight line ]

The third one is tricky....note that we can write

f(t)  =  1(3/4)^t

So....this is "decay "
