You choose three cards at random from a standard deck of cards, without replacement. What is the probability that the first card is clubs, the second card is hearts, and the third card is also clubs?

P ( first card is clubs  ) =  13/52  =  1/4

P ( second is hearts)  =  13/51

P( third is also clubs)  =   12/50  = 6/25

So....the total probability is

1/4  *  13/51 * 6 /25   =   78  / 5100   =    13 / 850

Also, when you say P ( first card is clubs) does that mean the probability of the first card being clubs?

Thanks!

Yes

P ( first card is a club)   means  the probability of the first card being a club

Sorry I didn't make that clearer  !!!!
