Let Mai's height  =  m

Let Jon's height  =  j

We want to find  mj

14 of Mai's height - is equal to - 25 of Jon's height
14 of Mai's height = 25 of Jon's height

14m = 25j

14m = 25j

                             Multiply both sides of the equation by  4

m = 85j

                             Divide both sides of the equation by  j

mj = 85

The ratio of  m  to  j  is  85
