Suppose ABCD and EFGH  are congruent parallelograms with AD=10. If the area of ABCD is 112, find EN.

In parralelogram ABCD

AD=10 so BC=10 

Area is equal to base*Height

Notice that EN is a height on FG, we already know FG=BC=AD=10 

so 10*EN=112

EN=112/10=11.2

After rotating my head 450 degrees and looking at EFGH, I realized I could form a rectangle by moving triangle EFN with its side EF to match up to HG.

 

Don't worry my neck is fine
