Please solve x in general algebra form in the equation ax^2+bx+c=0.

You must show your working. You must use fraction form. The answer must be valid no matter what the symbols stand for.

You need to take c to the other side and then solve it by completing the square and solving it for x.

 

This "DO NOT USE A CALCULATOR!!!! DO NOT SEARCH THE INTERNET!!!"

does state that the teacher does not want other people to do this for you, but I have given you a good hint.

 

Please no one else race in with a full answer.
