We know that the area of a square is s^2 (with s being the side length). Knowing this, all we have to do is take the square root of each area to find its side length:

 

Square 1: sqrt(25) = 5cm

Square 2: sqrt(144) = 12cm

Square 3: sqrt(625) = 25cm
