Find the distance between (3,4)

(3,4)        and  4x + 3y + 6   =  0 

distance =    l  4(3)  + 3(4) +  6  l            l 30 l                 30

                   _________________ =      _______    =    ____  =     6 units

                    sqrt  ( 4^2 + 3^2 )               sqrt (25)             5

I would like to note that this works in general; CPhill's method can always be used, it is a formula.
