bob has a mosquito problem in his backyard. He makes an initial count of 487 mosquitoes on the first day, and 982 mosquitoes on the second day.Assuming there is the same growth rate each subsequent day...

1)How many mosquitoes will there be after 14 days

2)When will the mosquito population be growing by 15,000 mosquitos per day

1)

The growth is 982 - 487 = 495 mosquitoes everyday. I'm not sure if the growth rate keeps on increasing, because it assumes there is the same growth rate. Assuming that, 2) is impossible to answer as the growth rate will never grow itself :D

After 14 days, there will be 487 + 495 * 13 = 6922 mosquitoes.

2) Maybe it means not growing by, but growing up to. So, how many days will pass by until the population hits 15,000. Well, we can subtract 487 to get 14523, and divide that by 495 to get 29.3999, and rounded up to 30 days. :D
