How many pairs of positive integers (x,y) satisfy x^2-y^2=51+xy?
Hello,
x2−y2=51+xy
x2−y2−xy=51
x2−yx−y2−51=0
Solve with the quadratic formula:
x1,2=−(−y)±√(−y)2−4⋅1⋅(−y2−51)2⋅1
x1,2=−(−y)±√5y2+2042⋅1.
I think you got y...
Let me know if you need help becoz this might get very messy.Good luck
