An ambulance travels at 40 mph and can follow a 20-mile route making no stops to get to the hospital. A helicopter travels at one mile per minute, and the air route is 15 miles to get to the same hospital. However, the helicopter takes three minutes for takeoff and three minutes for landing. How many fewer minutes does it take for the helicopter to complete its trip (takeoff, flight and landing) than for the ambulance to complete its trip?

I would really like it if you could answer, but if you don't know, you don't have to.

d = rt: 20 = 40t --> t = 1/2 hr = 30 mins

d = rt: 15 = 60t --> t = 1/4 hr = 15 mins + 3 + 3 = 21 mins

30-21 = 9 mins

The ambulance has 20 miles to travel and goes at 40 mph so it would take 30 minutes to go to the hospital
A helicopter has to go 15 miles to get to the hospital and goes at 1 MPH so it'd take 15 minutes but it takes 3 minutes for takoff and landing which would be added to a sum of 6. The helicopter then would take 15+6 minutes which is 21, 30-21 you get 9
So 9 minutes is the answer
Hope this helps!
