..This is for a grade 6 learner...My reason for asking assistance is because of the fact that this learner has not yet in his curriculum had to do with distributive laws, etc...so there has to be a different approach, which is what I'm looking for, please.
I have done the following:
Louis (x) =135
Sam (y) = 990
additional amount = z
so:..4(x + z) = y + z
4(135 + z) = 990 +z
540 + 4z = 990 +z
4z - z= 990 - 540
3z = 450
z = 150.
So Jane gave 300 in total, she has 270 left....
Like I mentioned, this is way too difficult at his level....please help...Thank you kindly.
